Elle’s a Belle!
Or, My New Favorite Pens!
The most fabulous thing happened this week, one you would never in 1 a million guesses guess. I became a Uniball pen brand ambassador!
I put my name in the hat, but never heard back. I figured I didn’t have enough star power to be their brand ambassador, but look how wrong I was! They must know about all of you fabulous Substack readers!
Suddenly, yesterday, like pennies from heaven, this new *special edition* Elle—Legally Blonde pen set arrived in the mail. The Zento pens are sleek—they write as fast as I can think. And the pink feather puff is even cuter in person than pics.
The pens come in 4 fun colors—linen, lavender, mist and sea. They’re perfect for any young law student, regular student, or novelist and poet! Aren’t they fab?
I’ve had this dream for a while—to be a brand ambassador for a pen company because I love to write by hand, and I can fall in love with any color ink. But Uniball may be my favorite brand.
Well, they certainly are now that I’m a brand ambassador!
In the meantime, my proofs came in for my debut chapbook of poems, The Higher Call. This includes printing a hard copy, making corrections and making a list of the corrections, scanning the pages, emailing them back to the publisher, and doing a thousand other marketing chores they did not warn me about that feel both complicated and impossible.
I’m trying not to panic.
Therefore, I’m keeping this short to go and do that.
Time is of the essence. I want The Higher Call to reach all you wonderful folks who pre-ordered a copy before the 12th of never. But accuracy is important too, because what’s on the page will appear in print. No pressure, right?
I’m off to do that, and next weekend, I’m off to celebrate the 4th of July. I’ll hope you do something fun and full of fireworks. I’ll be back July 13th.
As ever, thanks for following along on my journey into print.
